This was exactly what I was looking for! It's a comprehensive step by step learning tool that is useful for people that already have the learning challenges in front of them. THIS IS NOT THE BOOK FOR SOMEONE looking for a "workbook" that gives you detailed challenges to do like "HOMEWORK" style. (I don't mean to be abrasive, just wanted to make sure that sentence stands out.)This book is more of detail reference that gives you the answer you're looking for when you need it. It gives you the full why, how, when, with, and all the info you need.... but you need to know what you're looking for before going into the book. This book details out whom this book is made for, the included picture is directly from the digital version I purchased.I have about 3 specific sources that I am using to learn HTML, CSS, & JavaScript. This book is going to be my standalone reference guide when I'm doing the 'homework" that has been created by my environment. What that means is this: I have specific work goals I want to do, personal web page goals that I am working on, and side projects with many friends that I am tackling. (Yes, I am very busy with life LOL I also work 50 hours a week as a operations manager and recruiter) So I have source code from a million difference places that I am trying to understand, copy, and learn my method of doing the tasks that are needed. If you're starting from scratch this can an incredibly useful book, but make sure you're getting challenges from a place on the web. A great place to start is freecodecamp.org a non-profit organization that teaches people how to code. I use Lynda.com, freecodecamp.org, & w3schools.com to help me learn what I need while also using this book when I'm editing code and making projects.Hope this helps!Cheers
Very informative, and I am learning a lot more than I was taking classes; the instructors skip over or speed through a lot and it was hard to keep up. With this I can go back to anything I need to read it again, making sure I know what I'm doing instead of trying to take notes.
I first read this book at the library and liked it's flow. The author(s) do a good job of simplifying their instruction.
It’s not a hands-on book & cannot download source code unless register to their site. Purchased this one to see if anything new (e.g. external CSS, SVG, JavaScript) with full examples to practice. It is still useful as reference book.
Very up to date description of HTML and CSS
It's a good book and very informative but the exercises can definitely use some more work!!!
great book, very clear, great methods for learning, many new concepts and ideas
