About the Author
Edward L. Zuckerman received his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and remained there as an adjunct teacher of personality psychology and human sexuality for 14 years. He taught abnormal psychology at Carnegie Mellon University for 9 years and now consults to the Social Security Disability Determination Division. He was in the independent general practice of clinical psychology for more than 15 years and has worked in state hospitals and community mental health centers. He lives on a small farm in Pennsylvania with his wife, a daughter, and their horses, chickens, dogs, cats, geese, and ducks.

Had the second edition, lost it a few moves ago, decided to buy another. I forgot how useful this softcover book is. In this day of computer generated reports you still need to be able to write a report and this is a great guide to the correct vernacular and phraseology. It will be an ancillary for the a class I teach, although I don't see a need for newer edition than this until the DSM5 gets incorporated.
A must have for all in the mental health profession. Don't make it obvious to coworkers you got your Master degree online...catch up by using this fantastic guide to proper clinical documentation. Even experienced therapists can hone their MSE descriptors giving almost a visual image of the client. I loan every intern this book and they usually don't want to return it.

The most informative book on writing reports I have come across. I would recommend it to anyone who writes to courts and professionals.
Consider this less a thesaurus and more of a collection of prewritten sentences and paragraphs to help you formulate evaluations, case formulations, and document any old thing that comes up in psychiatry. Solid resource for the new clinician.
