Outstanding guide for those that intend to take an 8-year old to Disneyland & only have one day to hit all the important attractions.I found that the suggested sequence of rides was "spot on".Two minor complaints:First, the hint to sit in the back of the log on the Splash Mountain ride was exaggerated.I had the grandson specifically request the seat & we were granted the request.The book clearly said you would not get wet if you sat in that seat.Perhaps it was just a problem of perspective & it should have read "less wet".I spent the next three hours hoping my clothes would dry out.My second complaint is Space Mountain.A helpful hint may have included" take Dramamine before entering the park".If you have any inclination towards motion sickness (& I do not), then this ride is not for you.Skip the mountain.My grandson & I exited the ride on the very edge of sharing our breakfast with all of the other attendees to the worlds happiest place.Other than those two minor complaints, I found the guidebook well worth the cost & I have no idea how we could have had more fun.

Includes other attractions like Universal Hollywood, SeaWorld, etc.Cons:1. Very basic (which could also be a good thing since The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2013 (Unofficial Guides) since can be overwhelming2. The info is somewhat outdated3. Downtown Disney / Universal's CityWalk are not coveredOverall 3.5 stars, downgraded to 3 stars since info is somewhat outdated
I love this book! I have recommended it to so many other travelers. In this guidebook Michael and Trisa Knight are like neighborhood friends who share inside scoop saving me anxiety and wasted time. The Knights give some excellent tips and tricks for touring Southern California's adventure parks with children of all ages. Yet, the first time I used and fell in love with this Fodor's guide (a much earlier edition), my husband and I were still childless. After children came along we relied on this Fodor's guide for a trip to Legoland and then years later for a trip to Disneyland. In my opinion, to get the most out of Disneyland or any of the other adventure parks in Southern California this is a must read.Sadly, this is the latest edition and it's already three, soon to be four, years old. My husband and I are planning a family trip to Disneyland next year but this is the most up-to-date Fodor guide book I can find. With all the changes the adventure parks go through each year it's a little out of date. However, I am confident that with the help of the Disneyland website I can update myself and we can still use the tips and tricks from the Knights to have a fabulous vacation.
I purchased this not realizing how outdated the info was. I will look for an updated version, as what was still applicable is helpful, but this isn't much different than the 6th edition I already owned.
I love this book and buy it each time we are planning a trio to Disney. It saves us money and time and gives helpful hints to make planning easier so we have a more enjoyable trip. It also it a way for all of us to enjoy some "pre-Disney" fun before our trip evan begins. Love this book!
Must have for family time at Disneyland. Plan ahead to avoid long lines, enjoy the best attractions and find the best places to eat and rest.
The information in the book was pretty good, however it is outdated, there are a few new attractions and/or rides at Disneyland/California Adventure that were not listed. It would have been a real help if I had ordered the book in time for the actual trip - no fault to Amazon.
This is a must for any first, second ,third timers. We were able to plan and utilize our time better. Would have been confused without.
